AltTuningLab is a free fretboard and string-setup workbench for 6-, 7-, and 8-string guitars. It maps music theory to the tuning under your fingers instead of assuming E standard.

Why the site exists

Most chord charts and scale diagrams use standard tuning. Those shapes stop matching the instrument when one or more open strings move. AltTuningLab recalculates note positions for the selected tuning so you can inspect the fretboard before learning a shape or writing a part.

The guides connect that map to practical questions: which notes changed, where a scale sits, how a power-chord shape moves, and how a lower pitch changes string tension.

Publisher and legal entity

AltTuningLab is published and operated by Pineware Oy, a Finnish limited company registered in Finland under business ID 3194129-2.

Pineware Oy is responsible for the site, its tools, its editorial content, and its commercial relationships. You can reach the publisher through the contact page.

What AltTuningLab publishes

Advertising is part of AltTuningLab's planned business model and will help fund development and hosting. Advertisers will not choose calculations or guide recommendations. AltTuningLab will disclose sponsored or affiliate relationships beside the relevant content.

Who publishes the guides

AltTuningLab publishes and reviews material under the site name. The source data, calculation code, and guide content live in the same version-controlled project, which keeps diagrams and tables tied to the tools that generated them.
